A NURSERY RHYME

It's a strange affair; Enter if you dare,

But all those who enter be warned.

A true lie from the start; a broken heart;

the place where misery is born.

When he came along I thought he belonged

In this tome where the dreamers reside.

I opened the door like I'd known him before,

And he smiled as he stepped inside.

The rhyme became real; I started to feel

Like illusion was a place to belong.

Then the pages turned, we crashed and burned

In the flames of a frozen Love song.

Now the memory is an ember glowing cold

I sift the ashes of time in my mind.

Words written in whispers; words in the dark

Burning... each and every line.

It's a strange affair for all those who dare

Enter... and you'll seek what you find.
