Poem Garden 2

Poems still in revision and waiting for pages...as my garden grows

It's (A Song) About Time

All I Ever Wanted

Forgive me, but I have to go now

you know you broke my heart

But I don't really blame you

you were just playing your part

in this lover's game played on borrowed time

I knew I would lose from the start

All I ever really wanted was an honest relationship

With no need for lover's  lies. I asked you your name

you said it was truth and I believed in your disguise

You say you had your reasons

to walk out and lock the door

You say love has to wait

try to blame it on fate

But I can't stand out here

all alone in the cold

frozen in time anymore

I thought we could create a secret place... to be free within our hearts

A place to fly to our true needs and desires

no need to play the lover's games...no need to make excuses

no need for the lying parts

I'm hoping in time the memories fade

I have to forget the love that we made

There's more life to live, more love to give

and time wont stand still anymore

I was really quite bold and silly…to think I had found the key

When so many others have tried…to tame this roller coaster ride

in the end It's just part of the game…and  lover's true lies won't set you free

So I guess i'll move on now...I've played out my part

And it's about time for the heartache to start

and I'll need time to fix this broken heart

So forgive me...but I have to go now

Forgive me...

but it's about time...

Now I sit here reflecting on this game that we played

and the solitude that it brings…When all I ever really wanted

was an honest relationship…A safe place to spread my wings

The Path

We travel down life's many paths seeking but to find,

one who will cause us to stop and listen, and open our heart and mind.

The one who sees the secrets of our soul where others have been blind,

the one who wrote the song we sing; the keeper of the time.

I happened down a different path, one that few would dare to tread.

A path that seemed forbidden to me, and no light to see ahead

But there I found an Oasis with treasure beyond compare,

a flame in a frozen desert; your light was waiting there.

Did I choose the path, or did it choose me?

Were we sent here to set each other free?

Am I the song you were destined to sing?

Are you the one chosen to mend my broken wing?

At times it seems there are no answers. Other times it seems so clear.

At times I'm lost and frightened; the times you find me…I know no fear.

But through it all, the light and the dark and the fantasy and what is true,

there's one thing I know for certain baby…beyond all time through all eternity…

I'll still be loving you...
